Volunteers are vital to the work of Berkshire Bounty. If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out a registration form and indicate which opportunity you are interested in.
Volunteer Opportunities
Weekly Collection
Volunteers commit to a consistent day, time and route to complete each week. 1-2 volunteers per route. At least 1 person must be able to lift 30 lbs.
Special Events
In partnership with Berkshire United Way and other community partners, volunteers are needed for sorting and packing food during annual county-wide food distributions
Mobile Food Drive
One morning a month, volunteers commit to picking up food donations from donor’s homes and dropping off at a designated site. Currently only available in South County
Local Food Purchasing Program
In partnership with Berkshire Grown, volunteers commit to a consistent day, time and route to pickup local produce and distribute to food pantries across the county. 1-2 volunteers per route. At least 1 person must be able to lift 40 lbs. A vehicle with a high weight capacity is preferred.
Fruit Tree Gleaning
On a seasonal basis volunteers pick and distribute fruit from Berkshire County resident’s fruit trees. Generally takes place September-October.
On Call
Occasionally fill in for volunteers who cannot fulfill their commitment.
New! Berkshire Mobile Farmers Market
From June-October 2024, the Berkshire Mobile Farmers Market will be operating at the Becket Town Hall, The Armory in North Adams, 19 depot street in Adams, Second Street Second Chances in Pittsfield, 18 Degrees in Pittsfield and The Monterey Community Center. Volunteer positions include stocking, setup, breakdown, Market Ambassador, and other day to day activities.
